\nde S\u00faper Pancho.<\/p>\n<\/a>\u00a0 Victor Ochoa\u00a0(born August 2, 1948) is an activist, painter, graphic designer and master muralist.\u00a0He has painted over 100 murals, many of them in\u00a0San Diego, California.\u00a0He is considered one of the pioneers of San Diego’s\u00a0Chicano<\/a>\u00a0art movement.\u00a0Ochoa was one of the original activists at\u00a0Chicano Park<\/a> and a co-founder of\u00a0Centro Cultural de la Raza\u00a0in\u00a0Balboa Park, both in San Diego. He helped establish the influential Border Art Workshop\/Taller de Arte Fronteriza (BAW\/TAF).\u00a0Ochoa is also a teacher of art and Chicano heritage.\u00a0His work has been shown nationally and internationally, including at the Venice Bi-Annual, at the\u00a0Museum of Contemporary Art<\/a>, San Diego and in the groundbreaking exhibition,\u00a0Chicano Art: Resistance and Affirmation<\/a>(CARA). In addition to creating his own work, he is also a master of art preservation techniques, especially relating to murals.\u00a0He is considered to be a “serious cultural resource\u201d in the border region. \u00a0<\/address>\n\u00a0<\/address>\n<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0 Francisco J. Bustos is a bilingual poet, translator, and musician who grew up in Tijuana and San Ysidro and now lives in South San Diego. \u00a0He is a Professor of English Composition at Southwestern Community College (Chula Vista, California ) where he also coordinates the literary series “SWC Guest Writer Series.\u201d \u00a0In 2009, he founded Frontera Drum Fusion<\/em><\/a>, where he plays guitar, bass, Pre-Colombian and world percussion, digital music and performs bilingual poetry in mainly Spanglish and\/or Ingle\u00f1ol.<\/address>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
